Producer Tsui Hark and action director Ching Siu Tung combined forces for this epic
reimagining of King Hu's pioneering wuxia film set in an isolated inn, where
good and evil fight to the finish.
The Ming dynasty is rife with corruption. Power has been seized by the Dong Chang group,
run by an evil eunuch (Donnie Yen) who brutally executes anyone who questions
his claim to leadership. Most of his opponents have been silenced, but a pair
of rebel fighters (Brigitte Lin and Tony Leung Ka Fai) remain.
In an attempt to rescue two kidnapped children, they become trapped at the remote
Dragon Gate Inn while their enemies close in.
