Description:
A flowering herb with bright yellow tops and comes from Asteraceae
botanical family. (daisy) which can be
found on roadsides and in open fields that have been left to return to
nature.
Due to its prolific nature goldenrod has been used in native medicine
for centuries and modern medicine has found there to be a host of proven
benefits and uses:
- The goldenrod essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties that treat
acne and eczema.
- Essential goldenrod oil has been shown to kill many of the bacteria and
moulds that cause illness and respiratory distress including salmonella and
listeria.
- An essential oil such as goldenrod may help treat bladder and kidney
infection. Apply diluted goldenrod to
your abdomen as a supplementary therapy when being treated for bladder or
kidney infections.
- Goldenrod contains chemicals which can block pain signals before they
reach the brain. Anti-inflammatory
properties also help with pain by reducing redness and swelling.
Warning: If you are allergic to latex you may also be
allergic to goldenrod. Avoid use if you
have an allergy to latex, ragweed and related plants.

First-Aid Measures:
Inhalation: Move exposed person to fresh air. Keep the person warm and at rest. Call a doctor in case of persistence or worsening of adverse health effects. If unconscious, place the person in recovery position and call a physician immediately. Ensure good air circulation.
Ingestion:
Rinse mouth with water. Move exposed person to fresh air. Keep the person warm and at rest. Do not induce vomiting unless directed by medical personnel. If vomiting occurs, keep head down to prevent the passage of vomit into the lungs. Call a doctor in case of persistence or worsening of adverse health effects. If unconscious, place the person in recovery position and call a physician immediately. Ensure good air circulation
Skin contact:
Wash with water, change clothes if necessary. If irritation persists, or if you see any skin injuries, consult a doctor.
Eye contact:
Rinse immediately with plenty of vegetable oil by opening eyes wide.
- If possible, lift the upper lid and rinse. If irritation persists or you noticing any injury, consult your ophthalmologist with the product.
- For contact lens wearers: Flush eyes immediately. The lenses are sure to fall while rinsing. If it does not, remove them after rinsing. Do not reuse.
- For soft lenses: Laying the lens regardless of the renewal.
- For hard lenses, they can be reused after a professional cleaning by your optician.
