FEATURED:   A romantic set of three Mid Century ASIAN EXOTICA BARKCLOTH CURTAINS, created during the Atomic Retro era when all things Asian had a huge influence in America, and homes everywhere had Lamps, furniture, pictures, figurines, and colorful draperies such as these beauties.  These pleated lined curtains, featuring a traditional and very decorative Japanese flower cart, full of Chrysanthemums, flowering spring Quince & Pine branches, spring Iris and Peonies in all their lush glory as the recurring theme here, fills this wonderful vintage Barkcloth fabric with charm and color, and adding that Oriental flair to any decor in any home today, just as these did many decades ago.  We feel these possibly were not commercially made, but were well-made enough to still be wonderful and very useable today, their linings still good and pleats still in great condition, as are the curtains.  The hems have been adjusted several times over the years for different lengths, so the cotton lining is just a tad short of the bottom of the curtains now, the difference easily fixed with an iron & Stitch Witchery or a needle and thread, certainly. Like most older things, they just need a little attention to details and love to bloom again for you!   We just loved all the iconic Japanese flowers spilling out of this adorable cart, loved the tiny gold and silver accents, the flowering quince branches, colors used- just a wonderful, exotic, graceful scene, adding an elegant, restful atmosphere to any room, whether as gorgeous draperies or re-imagined as furniture covers, large plump floor pillows or ? You, the new owner, get to choose, and we're sure it will be so wonderful with these as your painted canvas!

MEASURES:  Three lined curtains, each with five(5) pleats ( stitched pleats are 4" long) across the top, 24 inches wide at pleated area, and 84 inches long now, with 40 inches across the bottom of each curtain.  Made from cotton Barkcloth fabric and a cotton lining (the lining originally went to the bottom of the curtains, but a previous owner lengthened the curtains by taking out the original hem, so the lining now is slightly shorter than the curtain itself.  This can be left as is or reverted back to its original length easily).  These curtains were at some point washed but not much, as the gold, silver, black, reds are still good, as are the more pastel colors, are in great shape and will last forever, apparently- we feel they are from the 1950's-60's period.  We could not find this design online anywhere, and could not find a manufacturer's name or style name on the selvage. Certainly made in the USA by a fabulous textile design firm and mill with great dyes and printing techniques so that today, many decades later, these still look as fabulous as they do.  Add a bit of the exotic Asian world and lush colors to your home, bring the Zen vibe inside and be the envy of your jealous friends, who wish they'd found these first!
