FED-5B is a Soviet rangefinder camera, the first model from the unified FED-5 series, notable for the absence of an exposure meter.

Produced by the Kharkov production machine-building association "FED" from 1975 to 1991, replaced the camera "FED-3" with a cocked shutter.

Specifications
The type of photographic material used is 135 type film in standard cassettes. Frame size - 24 × 36 mm. It is possible to use two-cylinder cassettes with a sliding slot.
The case is metal, with a removable back panel.
Trigger cocking of the shutter and film rewind. The trigger has a transport and working position.
Frame counter automatically reset when the back of the camera is removed. The presence of a self-resetting frame counter increased the height of the cameras (in comparison with the already high FED-3 device).
Film rewind with "tape measure".
Standard lens - "Industar-61 L / D" 2.8 / 55, enlightened. Connecting dimensions for nozzles: smooth - 42 mm; threaded (light filters) - М40.5 × 0.5 mm.
Interchangeable lens mount - thread М39 × 1, flange distance - 28.8 mm
The photographic shutter provides the following shutter speeds: 1/500, 1/250, 1/125, 1/60, 1/30, 1/15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1 s and "B" - slow exposure.
The viewfinder is paired with a rangefinder, the rangefinder base is 43 mm. Viewfinder diopter adjustment mechanism (within ± 2 diopters)
Sync contact "X", sync speed 1/30 s or more. Early cameras lacked a central sync pin.
Mechanical self-timer.
