Aquilegia 'Green Apples'
Aquilegia vulgaris 'Green Apples' is a double flowered
spurless clematis like variety, with nodding pale green and white flowers in
the spring, turning from pale green to creamy white by mid-summer.
Aquilegias emerges early in the year, creating clumps of bright green foliage among the daffodils, tulips and other bulbs flowering until mid-summer. One of the best old-fashioned cottage garden plants, producing an abundance of on long stems providing wonderful contrast to other summer border plants.
Aquilegias lend themselves to cottage or semi-wild settings. Most relish
dappled shade but grow equally well in most positions of the garden and are suitable
for growing in pots.
