This piece, dating from the mid 1950s, depicts a seated young, almost doll-like, girl playing what appears to be a mandolin.  Her eyes are partially closed, and her mouth open as if in song.  She is dressed in a blue dress with red dots and a red collar.  Her light brown hair is short and brushed back, although a single lock falls down on the forehead.  She wears red shoes without socks.  There is no base, so that the girl is seated directly on the floor.  The M.I. Hummel signature appears at the back of the dress, and the trademark appears on the underside, a large bee inside of a V.  It has the initials of the artist.
Like new.  Without chips or crazing.  She stands a total of 3.75 inches tall.  On the underside of the legs, there is some discoloration, which appears to be wear from sitting on a shelf.
