OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE
CANDLESTICK
A Georgian ornate candlestick by Roberts, Cadman of Eyre Street Sheffield, made in Old Sheffield Plate, (where the silver sheet is applied over the copper). It bears the familiar bell logo for the maker to the foot ring. The relief decoration to the foot is repeated to the fixed sconce with smaller motifs of same to the shoulders.
It is in good condition for its long years with just relatively small bleeds as shown. The piece leans slightly, not excessively, and the pad is missing from the underside which shows the piece is filled (built like a tank). There is one dint, as shown, to the centre tapered body and a small knock to the foot, anything else is very minimal.
