New reproduction of the coat adopted in 1874 and worn into the 1880's.  This coat is made like early originals, from a wool fabric that had been rejected for Civil War uniforms for being too lightweight.  In the 1870's arsenals were instructed to use up stocks of this fabric on new uniforms.

These blouses copy the original pattern with twisted cord branch braid on the cuffs and collars.

These are cut big for a loose fit.  Recommend ordering one size smaller than normal for a tighter fit typical of he period. Other sizes are listed in separate listings.

Blouses were also made with the wool lining for greater comfort in the uncertain weather of the northern plains and mountain. Our reproductions of those blouses are listed separately.
