This listing is for a new custom made heavy leather sheath for the Zombie Tools Felon Bowie.

I also made a matching custom heavy leather sheath for a Zombie Tools Deuce 3. That sheath is in another listing but I included a photo here for comparison. 

I used 8-9 oz veg tanned leather for the body of the sheath and for the 1 1/2” leather shoulder/baldric strap too. The shoulder/baldric strap also has a solid brass roller buckle.

In addition I lined the inside of the sheath with a 3-4 oz veg tanned leather insert to further protect the blade and to protect the sheath from the blade cutting into the sheath when the blade is being put back into the sheath. 

Furthermore, I attached a 4-5 oz piece of veg tanned leather to the outside front of the sheath to add some rigidity in that area. I stamped the front piece with a snake-skin pattern to add to the serpent motif of the sheath. 

I attached a heavy metal pendent in the shape of a two-headed serpent as a bit of ornamentation, similar to that from the Conan movie from the 1980's to the front of the hanger part of the sheath. 

The shoulder/baldric strap is attached to the belt loop with two solid brass 3/4” D rings that attach to two solid brass 3/4” chap snaps. I also added a belt loop to the hanger part that will fit up to a 5” wide belt. 

I applied two coats of leather finish to the body of the sheath, shoulder/baldric strap. I then applied several coats of acrylic finish to the surface of the leather too. Furthermore, I applied an additional oil/wax finish to the inside of the body of the sheath to protect the blade from moisture. 

To aid in putting the sword or knife into the sheath, just press in a little on the sides at the top of the sheath. This allows for retention of the blade without the need for any other type of retention system. 

I also waxed all the edges of the sheath to harden those areas. All the pieces of the sheath and hanger were hand sown with waxed thread using a saddle stitch.
