EVO386 for Campy UT
EVO386 began as a design
collaboration between Wilier and FSA. It has gained wider acceptance
because it marries a 46mm diameter shell like PF30 with a 86.5mm width,
like BB86. This bottom bracket makes it possible for
Campagnolo and Fulcrum Ultra-Torque cranks to fit in frames with the
standard.
This
kit comes with CeramicSpeed Standard or Coated Bearings and bb cups.
Hardened-steel races run super smooth, super round CeramicSpeed Balls in
both versions. The Coated version has a metallic coating 3 microns thick
laid onto the races, making it evensmoother and harder, resulting in even
lower drag and longer life.
Technical Data
Bearings
for the Ultra-Torque cranks are installed on the spindle, resting against
the arms rather than pressed into the bottom bracket. A
removal/installation tool is necessary; we sell one here, but any
appropriate tool will work. Spacers are included in case the bottom bracket
shell is too narrow.
We
start with our CeramicSpeed Balls in hardened steel races. They create a
75% reduction in drag compared to conventional bottom brackets. It helps
that the balls are 400% smoother, 128% harder, 58% lighter than steel.
CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings have frictional drag 0.3-0.4w per set with
standard grease. They also last at least 3x longer.
Coated
Bearings amplify your effort. The coated races find a 50% drag reduction
and an improvement in bearing life of 60% vs. Standard.
To
tailor your ride to your needs, change grease. All Round Grease is
installed; can be swapped for lower drag TT and Track Grease or higher
durability LongLife Grease, better for messy conditions.

If you
don't have any experience installing bottom brackets and bearings, we
recommend that you have your local bike shop fit your new bearings.
