Photograph Notes: This birdbath with statue dates from ca1900; it is made from granite and local grey limestone. It has a round granite bowl on a baluster stem with a moulded foot. A cylindrically moulded plinth in the centre of the bowl supports a small naturalistic statue of Georgina Baroness Mount Temple the art collector who lived at the house in Beach Road now called the Babbacombe Cliff Hotel. It is Grade II-listed (Historic England List entry Number: 1207749 LinkExternal link ). The statue depicts the baroness with a small bird perched on the left hand (see SX9265 : Bird in the Hand)
