Universal L Bracket with multiple mounting screw positioning
slots and movable side. Movable side in
combination with multiple screw positioning slots ensure compatibility with
most DSRR and mirrorless cameras. The movable side lets you move the L bracket
away from the camera and connect to your computer if you are using a tethered
shooting mode.
L bracket side is
also equipped with Quick Detach Socket Lens foot incorporate Quick Detach
socket to attach a standard push-button QD mount. QD system has been used for
years by industries around the world including NASA, law enforcement and
military agencies. The design inhibits accidental removal when the camera is
hanging from the strap. Straps are available at eBay, Amazon, Cabala's, Bass
Pro and other stores with sporting fishing and military equipment. My favorite
strap is Black Rapid. The most important advantage of L-brackets is that on the tripod, the camera behaves the same way whether its in landscape or portrait orientation. This is important because most ballheads limit your range of movement when changed over into portrait. Leaning a ball-head over 90 degrees for a portrait orientation is not recommended for several reason. It changes the viewpoint, so you have to move the tripod. It lowers the camera also. It puts the whole tripod off-balance, which is fine indoors but bad outside on uneven ground when the tripod might not be very stable already. It also has a "hard stop" at 90 degrees from the top of the head -- which again can be frustrating on uneven ground because you can't get the camera completely vertical. It is the best quick release system for tripods and monopods when combined with Arca style ball head and quick release clamps. International standard dove-tail connection, compatible with Arca-Swiss type quick release clamps.
