Photograph Notes: Location is at the corner of Westland Street & Lecky Road. View is to the southwest. This was the first mural created by the Bogside Artists in 1994. This mural commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Battle of the Bogside. The boy is wearing a WWII gas mask as protection against CS (tear) gas used by the police. High rise Rossville flats with rioters on the roofs were prevalent in the Bogside area and Butcher Gate at Derry's Walls.
