Photograph Notes: Horton Kirby Environmental Studies Centre is housed in an old Victorian school and the date 1894 can be seen over the door. The centre is subsidised by Lewisham and Greenwich Councils to offer outdoor education programmes to Lewisham and Greenwich Schools at a reduced rate. However schools from other areas are also able to use the centre. This was the school for children from South Darenth. Most of them now seem to make the short walk each day to Horton Kirby.
