This DVR is one in a series of 4, 8 and 16 channel recorders. Looking at the pictures above, on
the right hand side of the main PCB there are 2 or 4 small heatsinks. These are where the
video processors are located. One Video processor supports 4 channels, so on a 4 channel
unit there will be just one processor, On a 8 channel there will be 2 and on a 16 channel there
will be 4 video Processors.
This is important as the number of chips increases the overall performance of the DVR
proportionately. Additionally each processor supports one Turbo video channel allowing higher resolution and speed over
the first channel compared with the other three channels. As a consequence of this the number of
Turbo channels is 1 for an 4 channel unit, 2 for an 8 channel unit and 4 for a 16 channel
unit. So in an installation you may only require say 4 cameras but if you select an 8 or 16
channel unit you can have higher performance on either 2 of 4 channels respectively.
The 16 Channel version also has 4K (3840 × 2160) resolution for HDMI output and 10M /
100M / 1000M self-adaptive Ethernet interface. |
