Photograph Notes: This is Britannia Class Locomotive No.70000 'BRITANNIA' the first of the type & built in 1951 and was exhibited at the Festival of Britain in London. Now preserved it has been restored to a high standard and is currently found at the head of Charter Trains visiting many parts of the UK rail network. This view was taken at Salisbury Station Platform 4 on one of these special workings. The train had brought passengers from Southend Essex for a visit to the historic City & Cathedral of Salisbury.
