Photograph Notes: Ex-Great Western Railway (GWR) 1935 built Collett 0-4-2T 1400 Class Number 1450 simmers in North Weald Station prior to returning to Ongar on the last day of the railway's 150th anniversary GWR steam gala. The sight of a GWR engine would never have happened in the line's previous steam-operated life as the line was then operated by the Great Eastern Railway, the London & North Eastern Railway and finally British Railways. The latticework footbridge, originally installed at Woodford and now replacing the London Underground concrete version in this location, is nearing completion, although the main flights of steps off the platforms and the pedestrian decking are evidently still missing, and awaiting funding.
