Replacing a laser pickup needs specal care and experience. We suggest that it be done by a professional. If you are to install by yourself, be sure that you have related knowledge and experience.
Laser pickups can be damaged by static electricity. Therefore, most laser pickups have one or two anti-static points as a security measure. Before installing the laser pickup, those anti-static points should be removed by welding. As human clothes and hair are all static materials, a high-grade anti-static iron is strongly recommended. Special attention is required if a common iron is used. Moreover, once the iron has reached the soldering temperature, do remember to unplug the iron power before removing the protective points. This is to prevent laser lens from being burned by static electricity.
