This is a genuine, original mid-Victorian chantilly lace jacket. It's a showstopper! Please see all 6 photos. It's wide at the back to go over a bustle - see photo 2. The sleeves are  gently rounded in shape and wide at the elbows, to accommodate the sleeve styles of the times - which I think is circa 1865. Because this jacket is of soft lace, the sleeves and back drape nicely - you don't need a bustle skirt, jeans look fine with it. The front has no fastenings. There are some holes in the net - look at the back, photo 5 - which are repairable. This is a much-loved jacket and it has had quite a few repairs in the past - particularly around the neck. The good thing about old black lace is that it can be patched with more old black lace, and that's exactly what a previous owner has done. Photo 4 shows the side view on my mannequin. Photo 6 shows the lace pattern at the hem. Any questions? Please send me a message. Price includes first class signed for postage.
