COPPER CRUMBER

WELLINGTON HAT FORM

c1860

A Victorian copper crumber or silent butler with a pretty repoussed motif to the well and crimped surround to the rim of the curved back.

Estimated to have been made during the mid-Victorian period, it is in good condition for its years with the odd little knock and scratch but with a rich patina in the main. The two ends have curled up at some time but this has been rectified also sometime in the past.

Displays well, an unusual shape which affords a good long edge for the crumb sweep.
