ANTIQUE

SET OF FIVE

LATTICED/PIERCED

SILVER PLATED

MUSTARDS

BRISTOL BLUE LINERS

Estimated to have been made around the 1900 cusp this rare set of five silver plated mustard pots sport super pierced lattice work sides, hinged lids and are offered with their original Bristol blue coloured glass liners. There is a neat finial to the tops and an aperture to the lids to accommodate a condiment spoon although these are now absent. The handles to each pot are in the form of a dainty double scroll. The rims are finished with a reed and ribbon border.

In good structural condition for their antique years with some signs of wear to the silver cover, nearer minimal rather than commensurate to the outers but to the inners there are a few marks to the inner lids and wear to the inner bases where the mustard was trapped between liner and pot and a resting ring from age to the underside of each piece. These issues of course do not show during use or display. Four of the glass liners are without chip, crack or restoration, the fifth has a small chip to the rim.

Display extremely well for their age. A pretty and rare set.
