Photograph Notes: This is a long and painstaking process and I am recording it regularly because it is a dynamic process and in due course many of the changes will be hidden under later developments. For example, these infrastructure features will almost certainly be hidden behind a clad steel framework. In this view there is a large new plant room top left with the inner cladding visible. Later on a layer of insulation was laid down and covered by more aesthetic external cladding. The two cable trays/ladders were to gain some heavy duty electric cabling. That on the left now takes three heavy duty 3 phase supply cables (415 V) to the plant room while that on the right is taking smaller cables down to supply two floors. The rectangular duct beneath the plant room is a ventilation duct and by July 2019 this was coupled to one of two vertical ducts descending from air conditioning plant on the roof. The boarded up windows will never be windows again. The square openings in the brickwork expose the concrete floor slabs that will act to anchor external structural steel work. You can learn a lot from diligent observation.
