Tully River

This painting was done during a 'Kick Start Your Art' challenge run by Rod Moore of Learn To Paint Academy.

It was so much fun painting it as I just love to try and get the reflections in the water.  The rocky edge was also a challenge to create some underwater as well as on the edge.

This painting is done in water mixable Oils on a prepared MDF board.  It is ready to pop into a frame of your choice to suit your own decor.

The painting is 40 cm x 30 cm which is a standard size making it easy for you to get an economical ready made frame.

About the Artist – Anne Dawes, Western Australia

I have been lucky enough to have had a very happy, busy, contented life. Enjoying a marriage of over 45 years, with 3 amazing married adult children and also enjoying the wonders of 7 grandchildren.

I was definitely a late bloomer in the Art World, although I have always been creative, I only picked up a paint brush one day in 2019 after the grandchildren had left. They were having so much fun splashing paint around I decided to give it a go. To my surprise I just loved it and started my own ‘art journey’ trying to learn as much as I could online and thru as many varied areas as I could find.  While I was experimenting and exploring, I would look at my work and I actually liked it, which prompted me to create more and learn more.

As you can imagine a never-ending supply of art pieces surrounded my home and was given away to friends and family.  Then I decided to put paintings into the market place.  To my pleasant surprise they started to sell and so I keep just adding more and more because I love what I am doing, and at the moment I have the time to do it.

I am inspired by so many happy holiday memories over the years and find myself painting these scenes and some clients have asked me to paint using one of their happy holiday Pics. In these early stages I like to keep most of my learning pieces very affordable and unframed, however some of my larger framed or canvas works are starting to sell at slightly more with demand growing, which I am very excited and grateful for.

A few of my grandchildren seem to be very drawn to learn to paint so each and every school holiday I teach them what I know and they just love it.  I wonder how long I will be able to keep one step ahead of them.

Thank you for taking the time to view my work and my story, I really hope some of my pieces will resonate with you and you will want to own one of my paintings to hang in your home.

Warm regards Anne
