Photograph Notes: Viewed across Mount Street. The cinema opened as The Odeon in this Art Deco building on July 13th 1936. During the late 1960s it was sold to Classic Cinemas, who were later bought by Cannon Cinemas. Classic separated the stalls area for use as a bingo hall and divided the balcony into the two existing cinemas, making the new cinema entrance seen here. Scott Cinemas acquired the cinemas in December 1983.
