This fabulous signed vintage Weiss Jelly Belly turtle figural brooch/pin, showcases a large topaz brown cabochon open backed to let the light shine through to reveal a wonderful pattern of the turtles back. It is encased with exquisite and intricate gold toned metal work the head and neck of which are studded with clear cut rhinestones and two emerald green rhinestones eyes. The brooch measures 2 1/4" inches from head to tail by 1 1/2" inches across and is sold in fabulous vintage condition. The brooch has a secure roll over clasp and is signed in an oval cartouche Weiss and C for copyright.

 Albert Weiss founded his own costume-jewelry company in 1942, he learned the tricks of the trade as a designer for Coro in the 1930s. Weiss excelled at floral and figural brooches and earrings—the company also made numerous styles of bracelets and necklaces. Although Weiss would never get as big as Coro and ceased operations altogether in 1971.
