  • This is an authentic handmade rug.  It was made in Persia around the 1920's or before. 
  •  It has very fine  wool quality.

This Rug is in excellent condition with high pile throughout the rug, cleaned and no stained, the ends and bindings of the rug are intact as original and there has not been any repairs. There are no tears, breaks or holes.
The materials are from vegetable dyes wool pile over cotton foundation. The pattern is floral in deco style.

The pattern is tied from memory and often consists of a centrally placed medallion, repeated in all four corners. Humans, four legged animals, birds, trees and flowers are popular elements. Ghashghai carpets consist of a hexagon or diamond with four projecting hooks inside of a hooked diamond. Some Ghashghai pieces have the Hebatlu design (Hebatlu is the name of one of the one of the smaller Ghashghai tribes) and it consists of circular central medallion and smaller designs similar to the central medallion repeated on each of the four corners of the carpet. Technical specifications: Pile: Wool yarn. Weft: Wool or goat hair yarn, usually two wefts after each row of knots. Warp: Wool or goat hair.
