Bertha had her bowl back in 1886.  It was purchased from the retailer J. Kirscher in Dusseldorf Germany.  I cannot identify the actual silversmith as marks are overstruck.  Bottom of the bowl is clearly marked 800 (for 80% pure silver to other metals) and 1886.  Rather than a pattern number, I believe this refers to the year gifted (as the German silver hallmark requirement of crescent moon and crown weren't required until after 1886).  Font of Bertha monogram is also consistent with that 1800's decade.  Fluted rim.

Ideal as candy, nuts, or condiments bowl.

Dimensions: 4.75" Diameter x 2" Tall

Silver weight: 74 grams

Condition: Very Good giftable condition.  Bowl has two shallow flat spots and one short dent.  Patina commiserate with age and use.

Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping.  Please ask me for specific quote if you feel shipping cost is too high.  On certain large / heavy packages, I see EBAY's calculator grossly overcalculates actual shipping costs.   Please note I usually provide at least 2, if not usually 4, shipping options.  Please check to validate which option is best for you.

I only charge actual postage, and always use recycled packing materials.

Note some photos appear redundant because I take photos from all possible angles.  On symmetrical items, these photos may appear redundant when there are no distinguishing differences or condition issues between side views.

I gladly accept returns, but please note I do not pay return postage unless there was a significant error in my description.  The item listed is being sold as is, as pictured and as described to the best of my knowledge.  If you have a question or an assumption on an item prior to purchase, please ask. I much prefer to take the time on the front end to make sure you will be satisfied with your purchase.

Remember, when buying vintage expect imperfections as these items have a history and have been in the possession of others. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.
