It is scratch built model around a metal armature inside the model , the mounting point is on the bottom of the model.
I have used alot of the original kits ILM used to build this model, like Airfix Saturn V kits for the engine pods etc.
Its a good representation of a Studio Scale Y wing , I have added some artistic licence in places where I could not get the original kits part and used something similar .
The T bars to the rear of the engines are brass rods. So its very sturdy.
A huge amount of time was spent getting all the small details just right on the model.
I use Archive X and Tamiya paints for this model.
It is painted to a studio standard to represent an Y Wing in the Rebel Alliance fleet.
Similar to an Y Wing in Star Wars, Mandolorian or Rogue One.
The model is hand painted and weathered to emulate the original ILM studio models and is a very close representation to the original models.
It has the look of Gold Leader, it was inspired by that Y wing so it looks similar but not identical .
It has layers of dirt grime and dings and scrapes all over the body, and engines just like the original model has.
This is the best chance to buy 1/24 Studio Scale size model at a fraction of the cost of the Master Replicas Y Wing.....(if you can find one they are very very expensive!)
