ANTIQUE
ROUND
SILVER PLATED
TRAY/SALVER
TWISTED CORD RIM
Ideal
for serving drinks or canapes or simply as a card/message tray for the entrance
hall this super antique silver plated round tray or salver with its smart and
traditional cord border to the rim is estimated to have been made during the
early years of the last century.
It
is in good condition for its years without structural fault. The silver cover
is good too, ample and intact with just surface signs of polite service. There
is some surface scratching to the footring to the reverse mostly resting marks
but there are other scratches which suggest that there have been a few attempts
to test whether the piece is sterling or plate. Although the cover is intact we
believe, given the weight and the ‘feel’ of the piece, that it is plated rather
than solid silver and are selling it as such.
The
piece is unattributed.
