This offering is for a
wonderful antique early to mid 19th century hand carved wooden scoop or
ladle with a wonderful birds head handle hook. The scoop is likely
Native American Indian and the form is outstanding. The scoop measures
app. 12.5" in overall length and the wood appears to be ash. The scoop
was carved from one piece of wood and the hook was expertly carved. The
wood was never varnished and is has a wonderful mellow patina. There is a
bit of minor wear that includes a tight 4" crack in the front edge of
the bowl. Otherwise, there is typical minor wear from use but no breaks,
cracks or repairs. The buyer will pay a fixed amount of $ 8.00
for Standard Mail and we will include delivery confirmation, tracking,
at no additional cost.
