1985 Yukon Quest Button
Second race!
Very hard to find any buttons from the early races in the 80s!

Alaska Yukon Quest 1000 mi Dog Sled Race collectors button
very nice

Measures approx 2 1/4 inches tall!

The talk about creating a race like this started as far back as 1976, but in 1983 4 mushers sat around a local Fairbanks bar discussing actually making this race happen.  And in 1984 it was a go!  The race

would go along the same routes that the prospectors followed along the Yukon River to reach the Klondike during the 1898 Gold Rush and from there to the Alaskan interior for the following gold rushes in the early years of the 1900s.

The first Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race tested both race logistics and the talents of all involved. Twenty-six teams left Fairbanks in 1984. During the next 16 days, 20 teams arrived in Whitehorse.  Six teams were forced to drop out along the way

**Customers Buying Multiple items**
If you purchase more then 1 item please DO NOT pay for each separately - Please put all the items you want to buy in the cart, then use the "ask the seller for a total" option, so we can send you a new invoice with the postage set correctly for multiple items, it may save you $$ in shipping costs - I am told that option is hard to find on the phone app - no worries, we do refund shipping overages.

SHIPPING NOTES:

We offer 1 day handling, meaning we mail items within 24 hours of purchase (except on weekends and non mailing holidays of course) , but seeing how we are in North Pole Alaska, items may take 3-5 days longer to arrive at the destination than what eBay's notice quotes. They no longer process mail in Alaska, so an item I mail here takes 1 day to get from North Pole to Anchorage, then usually 1 day to be flown to a processing center, then 1 day to get sorted. So there's a lag time of about 3 days in there that eBay does not take into consideration for Sellers that are in Alaska. So please keep that in mind when buying from us to add those extra travel days to the expected arrival time that eBay sends you. Thank You!

**Sales Tax**
eBay does collect sales tax for towns & states that have a sales tax - we personally do not see any of that money, it is handled by eBay.

**International Buyers** We ship internationally using eBay's Global Shipping Program

**Special note on arrival times
International mail has taken anywhere from 7 days to a month to arrive, (item can be held up in customs or at anywhere along the line) this is just how the postal system works, we mail things out the same day / next day after the item is paid for and hopefully that helps in getting the item to you as fast as the postal system can get it there.

***Please Note:
The photos are taken on a measuring mat or next to a ruler for sizing. Measurements are in 1 inch increments - if you have a question about the measurements, please ask...
