This is a unusual, realistic crab sculpture with its claws extended.   It appears intended to hold something between the claws as the base, underneath the crab's face is formed into a somewhat shallow rocky bowl.  This little guy is about 5" tall at the tallest and 7" wide at the widest.  The space from the bowlish base to the top of the claws is approx 4" tall. 

I believe it is actually intended to be a wine bottle holder (though I guess it can hold other things). (A friendly eBayer clued me in).  From photos is should hold a standard 750ml bottle.

The space between the two claws, if you wanted the crab to hold something between them is about 3.5".  It is perhaps meant to be a phone holder.  My smart phone fits between the claws just about perfectly.

I believe it is made out of resin.
