Another beautiful hand made piece from Simpich!  Some faint scratches on wood base, pic#10. Paper music notes slightly peeled-off on the edge from black felt pic# 6- otherwise in excellent shape- no tears! Outfit in great shape- coat is a little wrinkled on back, made of fabric, no fraying, no holes. Shoes are in great shape too. Overall excellent shape for age. " What started as dolls handmade for gift-giving by artists couple Bob and Jan, flourished into what is now known as Simpich Character Dolls, Ltd.  Founded in 1952 by the couple, their Americana-style dolls thrived into several characters of doll lines such as Christmas-themed carolers, angels, santas, historical and mythical figures, to name a few. Simpich dolls were then made in their Old Colorado City Historic District, Colorado Springs studio up until  Bob and Jan retired in 2007. "
