This listing is for a vintage ANRI Woodcarvings in the Valentine series by Sarah Kay entitled "Finding Our Way" #1556 of 4000 made. This figure is a boy with his finger up to his chin, hat on backwards, pulling his wagon with teddy bear. The detail is amazing. It is 4" tall.  RARE.  SWEET.  These works of art were sold for 220 euros when new, which is about $220!

Sarah Kay, the artist, is known all over the world, started work at an advertising agency, and began to draw and design happy children in peaceful environments.  She sold her drawings to greeting card publishers and her designs are now translated into wooden figurines by sculptor Ulrich Bernardi.  Ideal as a gift for collectors.  

Anri Woodcarvings began over 100 years ago by Anton Riffeser.  His family began carving in the 1600's.  ANRI was started in 1912.  "The artisans of ANRI are, in many cases, descendants of several generations of wood carvers, all of whom take great personal pride in their work."  Some of the wood they use to carve are Maple and Alpine Pine. Each figurine is carved and painted by hand making each piece a "one-of-a-kind".
