Photograph Notes: Russell Spring runs out through a niche in the 19th century retaining wall which supports a raised pavement of High Street. The spring was donated, circa 1850, by Mrs Lucy Russell, a mill owner, and was the main source of clean water in that end of the village until into the 20th Century.
