The sardonic bard of Westchester County, Loudon Wainwright III had recently achieved wider recognition with the morbidly humorous 1972 novelty hit Dead Skunk. Yet, it was his fraught marriage to wife Kate that would provide his most resonant songs, be they comic or heartbreaking. 1973 was a 'sunshine' period for the iconic troubadour, now promoting his acclaimed fourth album Attempted Mustache.
His November appearance at Texas' Liberty Hall that year, found Wainwright performing with his usual suggestive wit and sharp-tongued charm.
