*Note- I am reducing prices to free up space for new inventory and some great pieces must go.

This is an attractive, half-gallon, mid19th century salt-glazed stoneware jug from Strasburg, Virginia. It is a great display height of 9-inches by 5-inches d. and weighs 2 lbs. 4 oz. There are two small chips on the rim but no others and no cracks or restorations. One side has a factory flaw that adds character, and the interesting glaze firing gives it a rustic appeal. This jug isn’t signed but has the clay mixture, mouth shape and distinctive handle of Strasburg jugs and is a notable example of 19th century southern salt glazed stoneware.

This is the first time this jug has been listed for sale and it could be a good addition to a collection, or an eye-catching standalone piece in almost any décor.
