China
2019 World Stamp Exhibition was scheduled to be held at Wuhan International
Expo Center in Hubei from June 11 to 17, 2019. This stamp exhibition, with the
theme of “mutual promotion for prosperity, mutual trust for peace, mutual
learning of culture and mutual help of ecology” and the slogan of “Share the
Passion, Meet the World”, marks the third time that China has hosted the
international exhibition following the exhibitions of China 2009 and important
activity of the philatelic circle celebrating the 70th anniversary
of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. This exhibition is also an
important activity displaying the glorious achievements made by China since the
founding of the People’s Republic of China, especially the 18th
National Congress of the Communist Party of China, in the special form of stamp
culture and promoting cultural exchanges and international cooperation in the
field of post and philately.
Philatelic organizations from 87 countries and regions have participated in the exhibition of about 4,700 frames. The category of picture postcards is added to the exhibition for the first time in the world stamp exhibition history. There are three categories among the non-competitive exhibits, including “Postage Stamps of P.R. China”, “70th Anniversary of the Founding of P.R. China” (Propositional Class) and “Philatelic Culture Show”. The logo of this stamp exhibition consists of an origami pigeon with perforated edges and an image of the Yellow Crane Tower, the iconic building in Wuhan. The mascot “Bin Bin” (literally meaning “courteous”) with a hairstyle of Metasequoia, the Wuhan City Tree, is running happily and holding a Large Dragon stamp, which symbolizes the courteous Wuhan people welcoming stamp lovers from around the world.
