This is a Vintage Wooden 19th Century English Writing Box made from Mahogany. Leather covers over the writing areas, 3 glass ink wells with metal lids, brass hinges, Quill has a plastic handle with a brass writing end, & brass locking mechanisms and key.
When opened for use, each side covered in leather opens for storage of paper (see photos). The left side of the writing area (which would be the top of the box when closed) has a brass decorative closure clip to keep the storage area secure when closing the box.
The label on the top of the lid and the cover around the lock hole are holographic.
English Traditional style and originated in England.
