The Snajpersko odelo (literally; Sniper suit) was a camouflaged oversuit/coverall of Yugoslav origin. It was designed and issued specifically for YPA scouts and snipers in the first place as well as for paratroopers and was thus, used exclusively by them. Although its pattern was an original design, the sole suit was actually based on and heavily influenced by World War II era Red Army Ameba kostjum (Amoeba costume) two-tone camouflage sniper suit (whose spots of irregular shape were somewhat resembling an Amoeba, which is reason why it was named as such). Despite the fact that sole suit as well as its camouflage pattern actually never had any kind of official designation given by YPA (in contrast to most other equipment of theirs, which was always marked with usual Model-year designation), the pattern is nowadays often commonly referred simply as Planinski uzorak (Mountain pattern), which is, however, exclusively a colloquial (unofficial) designation given today by various collectors. YPA personnel simply called it Snajpersko odelo or Snajperski kombinezon (Sniper suit/coverall) and they did not have any specific naming for its sole pattern.

This was the first camouflage design of the YPA (Yugoslav People's Army) and featured both a macro and micro pattern on it. Since being only a suit/coverall, it was thus not a dedicated uniform, but an oversuit exclusively intended to be worn over the standard-issue YPA wool, non camouflage uniform, the M-55, or the later and newer, M-77. Like most other suits and coveralls, it was made out of waterproof canvas and current rumors are that the fabric was supplied by East germany and was very lightweight. Two colour variations (dark and light) have been documented. Although primitive in design, the suit remained in unofficial service well into the late 1990s.[2],despite the fact that was officially replaced in both usage and production back in late 1960s.

The oversuit had no pockets, but slits in the suit for accessing the pockets of the uniform underneath. There are loops on the suit for adding foliage and netting per users needs.

As previously mentioned, it was produced and officially used relatively briefly - only from beginning of 1950s until the end of 1960s, when it was formally replaced in both production and usage by new, M-68 MOL (Maskirno Odelo LetnjeCamouflage Suit Summer) three-tone camouflage suit which was soon adopted by both scouts and snipers as well as paratroopers, what also explains extremely rare appearance of this suit in YPA after 1960s. However, it was still used during Yugoslavian wars, that is, as far as 1990s, but in very few occassions (mostly by some YPA or later SVK and VSR sniper units.)
