Photograph Notes: The River Rother flows through this small valley on the northern edge of Padley Wood. The photograph was taken a few metres from a [[385967]] that connects Pilsley (easterly, ahead) with the A61 the near Stretton (westerly, behind the viewpoint). Some 200metres upstream (ahead), where the valley is little more than a small hollow, a length of some 70metres has been �filled in� to allow a farm track to cross more easily. At that point the Rother flows through a culvert but here it forms part of a typical woodland scene that, in a few weeks time (photograph taken early April), will be awash with bluebells.
