This listing is for one (1) 24" length of premium grade square interlock braided flexible acrylic yarn packing. Excellent quality! Thoroughly impregnated with PTFE suspensoids and break-in lubricants. Perfect for your vintage vehicle water pump. This packing is self-lubricating, operates with extremely low friction and provides excellent heat dispersion and sealing ability. Packing is designed to operate in pH ranges from 0-12, up to pressures of 500 psi. and temperatures up to 500 degrees fahrenheit. Made in the USA! Installation: Rings should be cut on a 45 degree angle. Install second ring splice 60 degrees from first ring cut. Install third ring splice 120 degrees from first ring cut. Install fourth ring splice in same relative position as first ring and then start the splice every 60 degree pattern again. After all the rings are installed, hand tighten the packing nut. Next, start the pump. Gradually tighten the packing nut until leakage is decreased to a tolerable level.
