A watercolour by Constance Sandiford, a prolific Surrey artist active in the mid to late 20th century.

It depicts many people skating on an outdoor ice rink surrounded by distinctive tall buildings on one of those clear blue winter days.

Signed lower right 'C Sandiford' and inscribed verso 'Skating in Toronto'.  I believe the painting depicts the ice rink at Nathan Phillips Square, a longstanding attraction in the City.  Not dated, estimated to be 1970s.

Painted on watercolour paper and in excellent original condition.   Unframed.

Measures 19 x 27cm.
