FOLEY WILEMAN PRE-SHELLEY
PANELLED SERVING PLATE
RARE PATTERN 9279
c1900
A pre-Shelley
fan panelled serving plate by Foley Wileman with gorgeous paprika or deep brick
red coloured decoration in stylised daisy trails on a white ground. The
beautifully shaped rim is gilded.
It is in very
good condition for its years without chip, crack or restoration. There is light
crazing but nothing ugly or obtrusive. Having been made around the 1890-1910
period, the serving plate is subject to the expected small manufacturing
anomalies. The small slim white variable white line close to the gilding
appears to be under the glaze.
WE ALSO HAVE
UPTO SIX TRIOS AVAILABLE FROM THE SAME SET AND IN SIMILAR CONDITION. ALSO
AVAILABLE ON SEPARATE LISTINGS ARE A CREAM JUG AND A SLOP OR SUGAR BASIN.
Displays
fabulously well, a rare pattern and a delightful and dramatic colour.
