This is the little cable tab that attaches to the shifter mechanism and allows you to pull it and shift the trans into neutral if the battery goes dead or there is some kind of issue with the MINI. We find these get broken all the time and it's important for you to have it as you need it to be able to get the car into neutral to be able to move it in case of a breakdown or needing towed.
