Step 1: Velcro Attachment
The cup holder is formed to fit within the design parameters of the Dodge interior console. Properly fit, the cup holder should remain sufficiently seated within the front storage pocket of the console. For added security, use the Velcro strip (not provided) for additional adhesion. Using a mild detergent or isopropyl alcohol, clean the interior pocket surface prior to the attachment of the strip. Do not attach the Velcro at this time (see Step 4).
Step 2: Self-tapping Phillip’s Head Screw Attachment (Optional)
For a tighter fit of the cup holder-to-inside console, you may wish to use a Phillips-head screw to hold the cup holder in place. Drill a 1/8” diameter hole in the cup holder. Use a self-tapping screw to secure the cup holder in place.
Step 3: Sealing Latch Closure Adjustment
The factory latch tolerance setting(s) on the Dodge Ram truck applications vary depending upon the manufacturing of the console. The installation of the cup holder assembly may require that the latch be extended from the base of the console. This can be performed by using locking pliers. Attach the pliers to the latch and slowly turn counter-clockwise approximately 1/2 turn. Repeat, as necessary, until the proper fit is achieved.
Step 4: Latch Closure
Having adjusted the latch mechanism, carefully position the rear storage tray of the cup-holder into the corresponding front pocket of the console. Some gentle flexing of the material may be required for the out wings of the tray to clear the front lip of the console.Once satisfied with the fit and the latch closure, remove the protective cover from the Velcro strip provided. Use moderate pressure to properly seat the Velcro strip into the console pocket. Recheck latch closure. Alternatively, you can let the lid free-fall from a 30˚ angle to close.
