Photograph Notes: The pigeons were released on the dot of 11 o'clock from the Park & Ride next to Cheltenham Racecourse. They had travelled down from Cheshire and a small crowd had gathered to watch the start of their race for home, one small boy holding up an umbrella - just in case. Following their release, they circled the racecourse for a while until they got their bearings. Only one was reluctant to leave the truck and had to be coaxed out. He then flew off in the wrong direction.
