Check the sensor for debris

Before cleaning the image sensor, take a picture to check the image sensor for debris. Take a picture of a subject with uniform brightness and color throughout the image, such as an all-white subject. (e.g., white paper or a white wall) For information on how to set up the camera for shooting, see "Shooting Methods" below.

When dust appears in the image

The image is displayed inverted, so that the dust on the image sensor appears on the opposite side of the image.



Clean the exterior of the camera

Clean the exterior of the camera using a blower or similar tool. Then, to prevent dust from re-entering the interior of the camera, turn the camera face down and clean it with a blower.



Preparing the Camera

Prepare the camera for cleaning the image sensor by doing the following



Turn off the camera and remove the lens.



Turn on the camera.



3. Execute the camera's menu operation to mirror up the camera for cleaning. Refer to the camera's operation manual for details on the menu operations.



Remove dust from the surface of the stamp.

Before cleaning, use the supplied cleaning sheet to remove any dust or oil from the stamp surface. Lift the protective cover and use the unused portion of the cleaning sheet to clean the stamp surface. If the part of the stamp surface from which dust was removed is used again, dust and oil from the cleaning sheet may adhere to the stamp surface. If you have used an entire sheet, peel off the used sheet and use a new sheet. When cleaning the stamp surface, press it against the cleaning sheet. For the side surface, tilt the stick slightly and press the side against the cleaning sheet for cleaning.



Cleaning the image sensor

Using the cleaning stick, repeat the following steps to clean



1. Gently press the surface of the stamp against the image sensor.



2. Pull the cleaning stick straight up.



Clean the stamp surface with the cleaning sheet.



Gently press the cleaning stick against the surface of the stamp against another part of the image sensor.



End of cleaning

*Remove the cleaning stick from the camera and turn off the camera. *The camera will turn off, the shutter curtain will close, and the mirror will lower. *When cleaning is complete, attach the cover provided with the stamp. Clean the lens surface on the lens mount side as well.



Check the sensor for debris

Before cleaning the image sensor, take a picture to check if the image sensor is clean. Take a picture of a subject with uniform brightness and color throughout the image, such as an all-white subject. (e.g., white paper or white wall)



Confirmation

Check the image on a computer. Transfer the image to the computer, display it at full size (100%), and check the image for dust. Check with the camera monitor. Check the image on the camera monitor. When viewing in playback mode, enlarge the image 2.0 times and scroll the image vertically/horizontally to check.
