I am offering a series of  Philadelphia commemorative plates made exclusively for the John Wanamaker Department Store.  There are 8 total plates in the series to be listed separately (subject to prior sale).  All of the information is the same for each plate.

Each plate depicts a Philadelphia landmark.  On the underside, all plates have printed hallmark "Wedgwood Etruria England", "Philadelphia",  Name of landmark, "Made Exclusively for John Wanamaker", and the emblem "Engraved by the Wedgwood Studios"

In addition to the landmark engraving, the rims are decorated with eagles, laurel leaves, and ribbons.

Dimensions: Each plate is 10.5" in diameter with a profile of 0,75".   Unpacked weight is 1 pound, 2 ounces.

This plate is: East Prospect of Philadelphia from Jersey Shore About 1753

Wanamaker's Department Store closed in 1955 and the cast iron building to the north was lost to a fire shortly thereafter. Today 770 Broadway has retail space in its first two floors and offices above.

See my other items if interested in another of the 8 "Philadelphia" available.  Combined shipping always applies, so wait to be invoiced for actual shipping if you purchase more than one.

Condition: Excellent giftable condition. No crazing or discoloration. Paint intact without erosion. No chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, cracks, hairlines, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. Don't feel anything amiss when I run finger around edges.

Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping. I only charge actual postage, and always use recycled packing materials.

Note some photos appear redundant because I take photos from all possible angles.  On symmetrical items, these photos may appear redundant when there are no distinguishing differences or condition issues between side views.

I gladly accept returns, but please note I do not pay return postage unless there was a significant error in my description.  The item listed is being sold as is, as pictured and as described to the best of my knowledge. All dimensions and weights approximate. If you have a question or an assumption on an item prior to purchase, please ask. I much prefer to take the time on the front end to make sure you will be satisfied with your purchase.

Remember, when buying vintage expect imperfections as these items have a history and have been in the possession of others. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.
