DURITE Voltage Sensitive Relay 10m Wiring Kit for Dual Battery Charging

Kit consists of:
1 DURITE 140amp Split Charge Relay (VSR)
10m DURITE Red 110amp Cable
2 Strip link fuse holders
4 80 amp Strip fuses (2 spares)
6 Ring terminals (2 for relay, 2 for each fuse holder)

The VSR charges two batteries simultaneously (vehicle & auxiliary), whilst eliminating the possibility of draining the vehicle start battery and protecting sensitive electronic equipment powered by the auxiliary battery from harmful power spikes on engine start up.

This allows you to have two batteries one to power the vehicle and one for powering extra lighting, electrical equipment etc.

The Split charge relay will charge the second battery when the first battery is over 13.3 volts, it will stop charging the second battery when the starting battery drops to 12.8 volts.

We suggest mounting the Split charge relay as near to the starting battery as possible to prevent voltage drop miss readings

Place one fuse holder between the starting battery and the Split charge relay, the remaining fuse holder nearest to the auxiliary battery as possible.

Fuses should only blow if the starting battery is fully charged, the auxiliary battery has been totally discharged and the engine is revved excessively  so the alternator produces more than 80amps causing the fuse to blow, reconsider adding a second auxiliary battery or reduce the load on the first auxiliary battery.
